Snapped the U bolts and yolk on NP205
Power shifted into second gear yesterday, BANG. Broke the ubolts holding the ujoint to the yoke and really screwed the yolk up. Ill get some pics soon. Pulled the drive shaft and drove home in 4wd. :metal:
Anyone done a yoke on an NP205? any tricks/tips? |

Remove the nut, change the seal, install yoke, torque new nut, check fluid. good luck, Ron.

Yep, broke mine too. Just simply remove the nut and the yolk comes right off. Mine broke half the yolk off of the transfer case and the one on the rear end broke an ear off at the same time. I just had to pick up my driveline put it in 4 wheel drive and drive off. No unbolting needed. I think i may need to upgrade these in the future. :metal:

Had that happen to me a few years back too. Bad part I was 2 miles across town and in a parking lot so the drivline was still hanging to the rear axle. And Just before I left my house I looked rite at my lil tool kit I had pulled out of the back of the blazer when I cleaned it out. Thinking Awww, what are the chances, I'll be rite back... Yeah, well after walking home in 90 deg heat and getting my neibor to give me a lift. I took the drivline off and limped home on the front..
