Dropmember rack and pinion Question

How much thread do you cut off the rack ends?

From Nates website:
http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...ructions/page2

The tie-rod assembly will mount to the top side of the steering arm. It may be necessary to trim the ends of the rack and pinion tie-rod in order to achieve proper toe adjustment. We have had to trim as much as 1.5” from each end. Leave the jam nut installed while you cut the tie-rod, and use it as a thread chaser once the end has been cut-off

Re: Dropmember rack and pinion Question

I cut a little over 1/2" off mine and it looks lined up pretty good.... MAKE SURE you leave that nut on there before you cut it... that way after you cut you can unscrew the nut to line the threads up.
