ttt...no one has any 67-72 napco's?
|
I did not know that there was such a thing as a 67-72 NAPCO???
I thought that NAPCO was a conversion company that made 4x4's before the General started making them. |
I once saw a 67-72 Chevy 1 ton 4x4 on eBay, it had NAPCO badges on the fenders, and I did a little research and found out that if you wanted or needed a 1 ton 4x4 back then, you had to have one converted using a NAPCO setup or some other manufacturers setup, since 1 ton 4x4 weren't sold by the factory until '77 or 78. But I've only seen one.

lol i was just about to post that very same pic but you beat me to it...here's a link to more pics about that truck:
http://www.ccountry.net/~tmobrien/trucks/napco/71napco/ Even though it is a NAPCO conversion, I'm not sure about the rest of the truck...from the text document attached to that directory, it kinda sounds like the truck was cobbled together. |
im not sure about this, but didnt dana buy napco out in the late 60s?
|
they didn't buy all of Napco, just some parts of it...i forget who owns the rest...but they also might have sold their share
here is some good reading on the subject: http://www.napco4x4.org/history.htm |
