are there not hub bore diffrences?

I'll first clarify that I'm no expert on dually's but did some investigating for wheel choice options.

The hub bore is different between GM & Dodge (older vs newer wheels) despite the same bolt pattern. Not an issue if its a lug centric wheel (aftermarket) but most duallys use both the hub & lug for locating the OE type wheel.

Ford's hub bore is much larger & not interchangeable from what I researched. This is typically why wheels are offer for GM/Dodge applications & a Ford option.

All the newer GM wheels from around 08 to present are different (metric?) patterns as well.

The list was something like this....
GM apps: 73-00; 01-07; & 08 -current
Dodge: 7x-02; 03- current

I don't have the Ford info on hand as it was different enough I completely ruled them out as a 'cheap' alternative.

So the Dodge coined wheels or the ones that have one lug hole convex and the next one concave? Will they work on a 78 Chevrolet? Need some rollers for a while.

not quite sure why your asking, I think you know the answer , coined wheels (one with concave , one with convex) cannot be mounted together on the rear, you need a smooth mating surface

Does anyone know of a good picture reference detailing the 'coined' surfaces? I've heard of this, but have never seen it first hand.

The reason i am asking is because i haven't had a chance to pull the wheels off of mine to look at the mounting surface. It was my guess that they wouldn't work, but i didn't want to miss out on some cheap rollers.

Two holes are concave to center the wheel/ then install remaining lug-nuts

right in the owner’s manual for the truck. It says to use two 5/8-18 acorn lug nuts to center the wheels on the studs and then put the other lug nuts on. After they are tight remove the 2 acorn lug nuts and replace with yours and torque to spec.
