Did your truck use to be a 5 window? Nice build so far!

This was a 5w and I turned into a 3w because I like the most.
If you change your mind in the future I can return to a 5w.

Many thanks.

Thanks for posting the great detailed pics of the Mustang II install. I am about to do this on my '53 and am a little nervous about the alignment, and the directions aren't great. Thanks again !!

Hello guys,
my project continues and today I want to ask for your help.

As you can see in the picture I'm installing the windshield but I have problems to enter the stainless steel trim

http://i1024.photobucket.com/albums/...nk64/chev1.jpg

Please can someone help me understand how to properly install this molding?
I ran all the information you find on the web but the gasket does not fit well.
Here in my city there is no one able to do this job.

Please, please, please, help me!!!

Many thanks

Re: 1953 Chevy Truck: my crazy project

When we installed mine we did the rope trick which I see you have in place.

I do not see the S S on the drivers side, we placed the S S and the glass in the rubber gasket FIRST then the glass in the rubber and the rope in the inside bead,

We used lots of silicone spray and two people alinged the glass and rubber and started from the bottom lip and worked it all the way around the cab.
I did find that there are different types of gaskets, and by far the best one was from Steel Rubber Co. The other brand worked, but the rubber was much harder, and we worked up a sweat getting that one in !!

Thank you very much Solidaxel.

Tomorrow, I still follow your instructions, I insert in the rubber trim first, then insert the glass and silicone spray after.
This time I hope to install. My rubber from Counterparts.

Sorry for my english ;).

Many thanks

Frank

G'day Frank,
I like your little truck and what you're doing with it.

I don't have any ideas for your problem but would suggest that you might start a new thread in the 47-59 general discussion area with a title something like help with '53 Windshield Rubber or similar. More people may notice it there as a specific problem.

Regards,

Trently.
