CL 88' 4x4 Burb I just picked up.
3 Attachment(s)
Wasnt really needing this thing but....I never owned a 4x4 and wanted one. Its an 88', 350 tbi, 400TH, 3/4 ton, 4x4. Unsure of which transfer case it has. Ive had it a week and just had time to drive it today. It needs two tires and those dam running boards removed. Needs lock out hubs too. I have got a full floater for it also. After winter I will be pieceing a 6-8" lift together with 16.5's and military 37's.
Any suggestions on a cheap lift would be appreciated. Im thinking 1 ton springs front and rear with those B52 spring perches up front. Will not be a daily driver. Shes not pretty, but I bought it right. I have everything and then some to make it nice, but probably leave it like it is. Drove it through the woods and was so much fun!!! |

If the price on the windshield is right, you did buy it right! Looks like a great place to start an obsessive restoration process!

Yeah, If you paid $50 for that thing you got a heck of a deal no matter what you plan to do with it. It needs some TLC, but looks like a solid truck to start with.

do a B-52 swap up front and a shackle flip in the rear. That will net about 4" of lift. If you want to go higher get lifted leaf springs.

4" of lift isnt going to clear 37's. Not cutting anything. This is a low budget build. Going to use CL for used lift parts. Only things I will buy new are shocks and a dropped arm and maybe longer brake lines.

4in suspension and 3in body will clear 38.5s without cutting because that's what my setup is :-p but not everyone likes body lifts anyways the transfer case is probably the 208 or 241 can't remember when they switched and is that a conversion of some sort I usually see the wood grain interiors on conversion
