How low should I drop the rear?

I have installed coil springs only in the front to drop it 2inches.

Do I need to drop the rear 3inch or 4inch w/coil springs to make it look leveled?

Rear tire is a 295 / 50 / 15 and front is a 235/ 60 / 15

Re: How low should I drop the rear?

I usually go with the assumption that the rear is 2" taller than the front.
Your fronts are 26.1" tall
Your rears are 26.6" tall
If it was me I would lower the rear 2" more than the front in an attempt to achieve a level stance. Every truck is different so I would also measure the height of the rear wheelwell to confirm this. Also keep in mind that if your truck has the original springs in it they may already be sagging. Meaning You may already be lower than stock, so when you install drop springs you may not achieve the drop you want.

Re: How low should I drop the rear?

These trucks have a rake, the rear is 2" higher. (roughly)

So if you wanted to make it 'level' with a 2" front drop id put a 4" drop spring in the rear

Yeah. Keep in mind (ive always read this) that your 40 YO springs have probably sagged noticablly lol

Re: How low should I drop the rear?

If you go any lower than 4" drop in the rear you'll also want to consider shock relocation and adjustable track bar. So that might help with the decision.

Also, LWB or SWB? Measure your pinion angle before and after so you can get it back to spec. Chances are you'll be fine with a 4" drop but to save your Ujoints and just overall 'correct-ness' I like to put it back to 1-2deg at the pinion.
