60-62 and 63-66 column differences
I've started my search for a 60 automatic column and need to know what the differences are in the years. I've heard a change happened between 62 and 63. Is it looks, fit, or function? Will a 63-66 bolt in my 60 and fit fine?

Re: 60-62 and 63-66 column differences
short answer- no
but you can make one work the bolts that hold the housing to the brake pedal support are in different spots. the turn signal controls were different through the years, I think the breakdown is 60-62, 63-64, 65-66 as a result the turn signal cups attach differently, and the tops of the column housings are different. if you need to piece a column together, you will need/be better off if you can find a complete one , or parts for the specific year you have. IF, say you find a complete 65 auto column, you should be able to re drill the mounting holes, and make it fit. I suggest finding a 65-66 colums, because those are the ones that have the most common replacement parts. |

Not 100% sure but I think one of the differences is the wire connector is different.
There's a local yard here that has a 61 with a auto column in it. It would need to be rebuilt and it is missing the shift indicator. |

What about looks? Is the physical appearance different from the driver's seat between the different years?
