bench seat question
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I could buy this bench seat. The owner told me, that it comes from a 1974 C10 or C20. Will it fit into my 1965 C10 ? What are the differences between the above mentioned manufacturing years? Is it possible to put a 1965 bench seat cover on it (after some modification)? Thanks in advance Best greetings from Germany Martin |
Re: bench seat question
The mounting might be different, but easy enough to modify I'm sure. I bolted a '85 split bench in my '69 and only had to drill new holes for the middle. not sure on the cover, but I think they are similar enough to make work.

Re: bench seat question
I had an 89 or 90 bench in my 65. It only had to have different holes drilled, but I didn't have to have any different kind of mounting. I fit nice and I liked it at the time.

Re: bench seat question
Looks like the rear seat cover on that bench covers the hinges, which the 65 seat cover will not. Im sure that something could be done...might be easier to take the new cover and seat to the upholstery shop for the mods.

Re: bench seat question
That seat looks more like it came from a 76-77, not that it matters.
I would think the only issue you would have with putting on the 60-66 seat cover, besides not covering the hinges as mentioned above, is that the tops of the 60-66 seats are much more rounded. That might give you a hang up also when trying to install it. |
