Windshield wiper "parking"
The windshield wipers on my 1972 Blazer park successfully when turned off.
But they park at the very top of the travel instead of the bottom. http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/6237/wipers.jpg I did some searching, and I'm hoping it is as easy a fix as it looks to be.... I found this thread, talking about wipers: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=316642 And the second post says: Quote:
Basically move the arm on the motor over to where the blue is drawn in: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/6145/cowli.jpg Would be nice if it was this easy. Have looked under the dash and it does not look like it would be fun to have to pull the motor. Should this fix it? |
Re: Windshield wiper "parking"
I had this same problem on my 65 Impala. If you have the correct linkage arm on the motor, I think you should be able to just flip it 180 degrees.

And they park, just at the top, not at the bottom. If I shut the wipers off when the are at the bottom of the travel, the will go all the way to the top and park. |
Re: Windshield wiper "parking"
If I remember correctly the motor will always park at the same spot, so if the arm can be swung, that should fix it. Should. :)

Re: Windshield wiper "parking"
Can you pull wipers blades off, turn on wipers button and then shut off wiper button, then re-install wiper blades. Should help.

Re: Windshield wiper "parking"
Swapping the arm 180 degrees fixed it.
