1986 brake splitter wire?
Inside a crossmember behind my radiator is what looks like a brake line splitter. there are the two lines that go up to the master cylinder and then a line out for rear brakes and two out for each of the front brakes. It also has a tan wire coming off of it. What is the wire for? What do I hook it up to?
I'm doing a complete rebuild, and trashed my wiring harness and made my own, so I need to know what to do with this wire! Thanks. |
Re: 1986 brake splitter wire?
Think I answered my own question. That splitter thing is a porportioning valve, and that wire will read ground should there be a brake issue, such as air in the line or low pressure. The grounded wire would turn on the brake light on the dash, the same light the parking light is.
Am i right? |
