rockers to cab corners- what to do?

Ok, I have my rockers all installed and they look ok with a decent gap to the cab corner. The question is finishing. Do you a. finish as is? b. seam seal the gap? or c.weld it up and don't worry about it? Getting ready to go forward and was looking for opinions/ experience. Thanks, Chip

I just got my driver side rocker and corner installed last weekend. I went ahead and just welded the gap. This is my first panel replacement project, but that is what my mentor recommended to me.

I also welded the gap, as the cab corners i got didn't exactly have much to work with at the gap.

I would do it the way the factory did and leave it be. Think ahead to when you may need to replace again.

I would leave it open for any drainage or body flex that may need to occur.keep in mind also that in the case of a collision, damage can spread from one panel to the next that much easier as well as make either harder to replace. Having said that, if it is a show piece and it would add to the effect go for it!

I have wondered about this for years. So the factory didn't do anything to seal it? It was just left with the gap? Afer 30 years it is hard to tell what they looked like originally, and I also would like to know. Good Q!

Ask joesjunk, he has some really nice survivor trucks. The 2000 mile truck he just got would be a perfect example.

I always seam seal it then take my finger and remove the excess leaving a nice filled grove. Let it cure for 24 hrs or so before priming or it could cause problems.
