95 LT1/4L60E into 67 Burb

This has probably been discussed before, but I have some questions.

I have a 95 Roadmaster with a LT1 and 4L60E that I want to yank out and drop into my 67 C10 Suburban. (Now with a 350/TH350)

What do I have to know before I start and just what problems will I have to watch for? Is it a fairly straight forward swap? Do I buy a wiring harness? Or just pull what I need from the Buick. Will I need an ECM reprogram?

Thanks.

It will all bolt in, driveshaft may need to be changed depending on if you current one is the long or short tail TH350. I am doing a 97 vortec 350 swap using the complete wiring from a tahoe (not done im doing wiring on it now). an aftermarket harness is the easy route but I looked up the harness for mine and it is over $700 so Ill just do it the hard way. ECM program depends on what you modify if you keep the O2 sensors, EGR, Catalytic converters etc you should be able to use the stock ECM, some have a VATS vehicle anti theft system that may need to be eliminated by reprogramming. that and I beleive you will need different gauges for the electronic speedo VSS.

Heres one but its a 92 roadmaster drivetrain into a squarebody. lots of good wiring info in this thread!

I am also in the process of swapping an lt1 4l60e into my 70' burb. There are a few things you should keep in mind. There are a thousand small details that will take up a lot of time. Lt1swap.com is an invaluable tool that provides some much needed info. You will spend a good amount of time wiring up the car. Have you decided if you are going to have an in-tank fuel pump or inline. Btw if your a/c compressor is mounted on the lower ps you will have to notch the frame so it clears. There is a lot to go through I am only about 1/2 way through this swap and it boggles my mind sometimes the number of details

You can also look up on hotrodlane.cc which is Street and Performance. I have one of their LT1/4L60E setups in my 67 C10 Stepside. They actually tell you what wiring you need and what you do not. I have had it in my 67 for over six years without any problems.
