Fuel filters/pumps mounting locations

Trying to figure out where to mount my external pump and filters.

Aeromotive recommends mounting the pump below the tank but I dont see that being possible with my set up. Anybody have pics or ideas? Im wanting to mount everything on the rear most frame support xmember right behind the rear bumper. Would this be ok? Im using a boyds rear mount tank

Re: Fuel filters/pumps mounting locations

Most will mount external pumps on the frame rail.

Mine is on the frame as close to the tank as possible. Just hit 1200 miles, no problems so far..

Guys,

If I am going to run an external Walbro with a vette filter/reg does it matter which side my pump is on? Does it have to be before the regulator, or can the pump be between the regulator and the fuel rail. I would think it need to be between the fuel cell and regulator, but it would be nice to get the benefit of the filter on the pump. Thanks

This is how I mounted mine. Feed is on the passenger side. Regulator is after the fuel rails

c10, thanks. I'm going to believe it's best to run the pump inline between the fuel cell and the filter/regulator. Thanks again.

Definately run the vette filter/reg after the pump as it brings the pressure down to the proper pressure for the fuel system. If you want a filter before the pump just run a cheap filter.

I made a bracket for my pump that hangs in front of the fuel tank and I used an Aeromotive filter that connects to a 90 degree fitting that connects to the discharge port of the fuel tank. I think my pump is only about 1" above the outlet. I'm at work so I can post a picture tomorrow of my setup.
