Carb size??

So I showed my motor to a buddy and he took one look and asked what size my carb is cause he said "it looks ****ing big"

Is there away to find out what size it is by codes on it or how can I do that, it's an edelbrock aftermarket but it came with truck and I have no specs on it and I'm always looking for more to say when people say "what's it got?" lol

This is from memory, so I could be wrong. But I think if you're staring at the carb, the bottom left corner should have a number on it. That number will tell you the particular model, and from there you can look up the specs.

The most common are probably going to be 1405 and 1406, both are 600CFM carbs. I think there are some small internal jetting differences, but the most obvious would be the 1406 has an electric choke.

A 1407 is a little bigger at 750cfm.

Weber made the castings for Edelbrock carbs. You have a standard 1406, just order parts for that.
