5 lug swap question
I recently got a rolling 71 C10 frame. I plan on swapping all the 5 lug parts and discs on to my 68. I plan on using the a-arms, spindles, discs, etc and just the rear end. Is that a good plan or should I use other parts too? Tie rods, cross-member...?

Re: 5 lug swap question
When we wanted to go to 5 lugs on my '69 swb frame we used all the parts off of a '71 donor frame.
We used the whole front cradle with suspension and steering along with the reared. It was an easy conversion. |
Re: 5 lug swap question
just unbolt the front cross member and swap it out.....that way you get everything with having to piecemeal it.....on the rear end, remember that it is wider than the 68 rear end....so if you have wheel selected make sure they will fit your application....if you want to stick to the 68 rear, ECE makes the 5 lug conversion axles....Have fun with it and enjoy your build!
Also, take some time and read through this thread for your conversion....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=444823 |
