Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
Just wanted to see if anybody had any input on rockers.
Its a 540 bbc Looking at scropion part #1014 vs Comp Cam part # 19021-16 Thanks |
Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
I have the 1014 Scorpions on my truck. 990 heads, .703" lift Herbert cam and good pushrods/guide plates. No complaints after 3 seasons of 7000 rpm shifts. They replaced a set of unknown brand rockers that were wore smooth out. You must check the rocker to valve spring clearance and verify the wear pattern on the valve stem.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
I was facing the same decision a few months ago. Ended up going with Crower Endure series.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
Thanks for the info, the race shop that built my engine told me they havent had any problems with scorpion so thats what i went with. I know there not the only one, but made in the USA still means something to me.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
That's one of the reasons I used them, also. Good luck.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
Had a set of scorpions on my SBC, they were bulky and hit my valve covers. They were also noisy. Switched them out for a set of Harland Sharps.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
We ran these on the modifieds for 11-12 years. Zero issues. I have a set in my truck now. I couldn't, tell you if their loud. Between the should roller cam and flowmaster hush powers with no insulation on the floor . Can't tell what's making noise, everything is loud.

Re: Comp Cam Vs Scorpion
