Who has a TH350 bolted to a '99 LQ4

Not trying to reinvent the wheel. Just want to know what parts I need to make it work.

1999 & 2000 LQ4's have a longer crank end than other LS engines, This takes care of the crank spacing, Do you have the flexplate? If not buy a LQ4 flexplate. You might have to slot the torque converter bolt holes in the flexplate.

So any flexplate will do?

Re: Who has a TH350 bolted to a '99 LQ4

I have an extra 5.3 flexplate gathering dust.

You need a LQ4 specific flexplate.
NO other LS flexplate will work.
1999 & 2000 LQ4's are a little different animals.
You do have cast iron heads,,right?

Indeed I do have cast iron heads. I will scour the junkyard today for a '99-00 specific flexplate. I see you have a Duramax, EfiLive on it? Have an '05 Cummins myself, unfortunately efilive is only available for '06+

Does not need to be 99-00 specific; you are looking for the flat flexplate, no dish. Like stated above, you'll need to slightly egg the converter holes to accommodate the difference between metric/standard bolt circles. Does the TH350 use a kickdown cable?

I am not sure. The last one I had on my Pontiac did have one and needed to be adjusted.

So, that's another consideration, as well as the dipstick, which mounts to the 'missing' bellhousing bolt.

Re: Who has a TH350 bolted to a '99 LQ4

Bowtie overdrives has a kit for a TV cable for 700r4/2004r that may be able to be adapted for the kickdown. I've seen people attach a pipe clamp to the head for the dipstick, or buy an aftermarket, ala Lokar. I think I will try to use some sort of nutsert. Do not drill the block! There is a water jacket there...

I'm running a 350 behind a 5.3 works ok I had one out of an express van with 80e so had the proper flexplate and spacer if you have a 60e the flexplate will not work as I was told I'm in the process of swapping in a 700 with the bowtie overdrive kit

Not "what", but "where" is it...lol. Figured he would have bought the trans to go along with the motor.

How the heck do I get the last bolts at the top of the trans out? Do I have to drop the trans first?

Re: Who has a TH350 bolted to a '99 LQ4

What truck is it in? I've had luck pulling them from above in 99-up trucks. Just crawl up on top of the engine and reach behind with an open end wrench...

Its an '84 C10 Gringo. I haven't installed the LQ4 yet, just a sbc\th350 combo.
