a/c and non a/c fan shrouds.. differances
Hello..
I have a small block(for now) truck with a/c and the mopar jeep electric fan here for that mod.. my fan shroud is a chopped up mess at the bottom.. and flaps in the breeze somewhat.. the local junkyard has a 70-72 truck with 307 non a/c with a good shroud.. what is the differences.. this truck has what looks like the same rad. and had a plow, so I'm betting on 3-4 row.. the shroud itself looks deeper.. (from core support to fan) can a non a/c shroud be used on an a/c truck.. as I'd rather not mount the jeep fan in a shroud thats only held on with 2 bolts at the top and nothing at the bottom.. thanks.. iirc the junkyard truck is a 71, mines a 71 |

The SBC non-a/c shrouds are about 3/4" deeper than the a/c shrouds. I can't imagine it would make any difference to you if you're not using the mechanical fan.

Re: a/c and non a/c fan shrouds.. differances
Remember, vehicles with a belt driven fan must have a shroud where the fan is about halfway in and halfway out of the shroud for it to pull the air properly through the radiator. If the fan is too far into the shroud, or too far out of it, it will just cavitate the air, not pulling it through the radiator like it should.
