How much and where to add PAG oil..
 
I have replaced my entire AC system with new stock components and added a high pressure cut out solenoid....before drawing a vacumn and charging, I need to know many oz of PAG oil to add and whether it all goes in the compressor or??? Thanks,

Is your A/C system entirely free of oil? If so, refer to the following for the correct amount of oil to use.

Assuming your truck has an A6 compressor, you'll need 10 oz of PAG oil. This is also assuming that the A/C system has been properly cleaned, and new accumulator / filter drier has been installed.

Add about half the oil to the compressor and the other half to the drier.

I hope you're not using one of those vacuum machines that hooks up to an air compressor.

Send me a PM if you're interested in a common off the shelf refrigerant that works better than R12 and less costly than R134a. IMO, R134a was a step backwards from R12.
