Just make sure to get good fittings, cut the line very square, and you will have no leaks. I have done a number of systems in 1/2" using PTC fittings. We sell the DOT approved fittings... although more $$.... they don't leak. Also go with DOT approved air line, for durability reasons.

No insert, just push the air line into the connector all the way, and make sure it is fully seated.

the real question is then how much for a Bag of fittings? doing the front of my 86 c-10 for now.

Just my $0.02 here, but are you dead set on 1/2"? I have all 1/2" lines on my Blazer and it's way too fast and was kind of a pain to route in tight bends. If I ever did this all over, I'd definitely do 3/8" lines. Perfect speed, easier line routing and all the fittings are a little cheaper.

I did 1/2" on my '69 and it was TOO fast. I ended up putting dump and fill adjusters to control the flow. It was nice to be able to dial it in, but I will do 3/8 max from now on.

i was thinking if its too fast i would just keep reducing the dump? you 1/2 to 3/8 or 1/4.

The fill was too fast, also. The dump adjusters (one on each of the 4 dump valves) also worked as a muffler that my neighbors appreciated. :lol:

I had 2 feed lines, so I only needed 2 fill adjusters.

<edit> It was nice to dial in the speed I wanted, but at 1/2" it was all up or all down with the hit of a button. I swear it jumped 4" off the ground the first time I hit the all up switch after install.

I have flow controls for mine now. I'm pretty sure I got them all from AVS since they are vendors here on the board. The 1st set go in line off the tank and has a little dial on them to adjust the speed of the fill (1 for each line). The other set goes on each dump valve and also has a dial on them to adjust the speed of the dump, but also has a muffler on them to quiet it down. The mufflers were $8 a pop, but the flow controls for the fill were a little more like $15 a pop or something. My dumps are all right at my rear tire, so it's crazy loud and scares most who aren't ready for it, so the mufflers should be a good addition.

You type fast jimmydean! That's the same set up I have for the Blazer. At about 130 PSI from full dump to full lift right now, the front tires do come off the ground a bit...at 200 PSI I bet it'd get a couple inches even with the 22s...not at all what I was going for.

On that note, to King-918...my bags reach full lock both front and rear at around 85 PSI (I have Doms all around). I don't think you're going to need a 200 PSI pressure switch.

If you run a 200 PSI switch, you just get more storage in the tank for when you do lift the vehicle up. Although the bags may not take 200 PSI to get to ride height, it is nice to have as much air storage as possible.

Another question? Why does my valves and tank say 1/2" NPT but when i got my connectors the valves and tank are bigger than my connectors?

Looks like you got 3/8" NPT fittings. The place should exchange them out if you ordered 1/2" NPT, and got 3/8" NPT.

On 1/2" NPT should the O.D be 3/4"? Because mine are on the bags, tank, and valves

NPT is measured I.D. The inside dimenson of the fittings you will need should measure 1/2 inch. If i remember correctly the O.D. is roughly 3/4 inch on 1/2 NPT fittings.
