keeping gas in the carb

How do you guys keep the carb full of fuel when sitting for extended periods? Is there a better way to reintroduce fuel on a restart other than squirting in carb? Rebuilt 283 with edelbrock.

You could back it up with an electric pump with a switch, turn on to fill then turn it off when done.

if its evaporating out of the carb i dont think much can be done about that.
but i had a problem like this. the see thru-in-line gas filter that is near thecarb would not stay full. gas would leak back when the engine was off.
what it was was cheap snap on hose clamps did not make a air tight seal. after putting 4 screw clamps on the fuel hoses.... no more leak back and the filter stays full of fuel.

I just install an inline fuel filter with a check valve on the frame before the fuel pump inlet. That way the fuel pump stays full also.
