Bolt Pattern
I'm looking to buy a bell housing from a 67-72 pickup, does the 4 speed and 3 speed have the same bolt pattern?

Interface to the engine is the same. Interface to the tranny is different for 3 and 4 speed.

From 67-72 ,you should have the same bolt pattern on both sides of the bell. There will be a difference in the bell pilot hole for the trans.....68-up will be 5 1/8",& 67 & older will be 4 11/16". If you have A car trans(3 or 4 spd),or an sm420 4spd,you will need the small hole bell. the ch 465 4spd,& the later 68 up truck 3 spds will take the large hole bell. On the saginaw trannys(7 bolt side cover),you can swap the throw out collar from car to truck,& use either bell. Good luck.....69 longhorn.
