I can not get my ignition switch out !
 

I have tried all of the paper clip tricks and everything to get my iginition switch out of my 67 ,it wont budge, any help or ideas ?

You must have in accessory position to push release then turn counter clockwise.

well just called my bodyman , he has tried everything HE GOT IT OUT ! on a totally non related subject....i need to buy an iginition for a 67 ...LOL

'67's and some early '68's do not have an accessory position, so to make it easy I always just say to turn the key to the left as far as it will go, insert the paper clip, stiff wire, or small Allen wrench and "gently" push the release pin down.

When you have the pin depressed turn the cylinder further counter clockwise as Kev said. When it turns past the pin you will have to remove the paper clip or it will bind. Turn the cylinder as far as it will go and it should pull out. You may have to wiggle it a little. Sometimes they can be stubborn...:)

what they said is how it works....then unscrew the chrome ring on front from ign. switch on back side....

I struggled with this for an hour before I clamped a small vice grip on the key to get more leverage to turn it backwards it was kinda tough,also i had to use a flashlight too see the little shiney plunger through the hole cause it didnt quite line up right when in the acc. position
