Pretty interesting engines. Saw an article about them in Car Craft last month. Thunder V12 is a company that is rebuilding them. Trouble is - I'm not sure what you could put it in . . .
Cool to think about though. See more here:

Man, a sheetmetal intake with a few big Holley carbs, a reground cam, port and polish all the heads, I've heard there are big-valve heads for the V6 so those probably flow better to begin with, custom pistons for high compression and a set of good rods... 1.25hp per cubic inch should be do-able.
Then drop that heavy sucker in a '53 Studebaker and go set a record at Bonneville.

Yes, I have thought about just exactly this in the past...

Comparatively speaking, it probably wouldn't be a real expensive way to build a 700ci engine... Probably a lot cheaper than building one that big based off a Big Block Chevy or other aftermarket block/head combination.

I wonder what 702ci + .030-over comes out to?

And at Bonneville, weight isn't a bad thing.

Thank you. I knew I had just read an article about these also, but couldn't remember which one of my monthly rags it was in. Makes me wonder what kind of truck it's in, that's a pretty long setup.
