1960 GMC Rear Swaybar Mounts

As I was working on the rear brakes of my GMC, I noticed it has a rear swaybar, but the ends are not botled to the axle. Are the end links hard to find? What do they look like? Thanks!:gmc2:

To the best of my knowledge GMC never added a rear sway bar in 1960. Mine didn't even have one in the front, so I would assume it's an incomplete aftermarket setup.

They didn't have a sway bar.
Do they look like pieces of leaf springs? You might be looking at the optional helper springs.

I've seen the helper springs, it is a swaybar. I'll take some pics tomorrow...I already have the back wheels off so I can fix the brakes.

I have a '60 with a sway bar. Looking forward the left side mounts to the fran and the right goes to the top of the axle.

Thats a track bar, a sway bar will have four mounting points. two to the frame two to the axle.

If you truly have a rear sway bar with missing components, you might want to check with either (or both) Hellwig or Addco. They have both been around for decades providing universal and aftermarket bars to the auto industry. If you could find an interested tech they might be able to fix you up with what's missing.
