body drop question?

I have '67 chevy 2wd and i'm putting a 2" body drop in it. for the cab i raised the floor and the box the same thing. for the front i haven't done anything yet because i m not sure where to make the cut.

iam pretty sure i need to cut the frame, but where is the question. I know it has be in front of the motor mounts, but then what do i do with the steering gear box???

any suggestions will help

thanks alot guys

You actually would just need to lower the radiator core support mounts equal to the amount of the body drop. This in turn lowers the front of the fenders the proper amount to line up w/the cab & won't effect steering gear (other than from the box to the cab).

I cut about 6" of the very front frame rails and lowered them 2.5" for mine. This way the bumper, inner fenders, etc lined up. The sterring box is untouched and in the same spot. As for the rad i just drilled new holes in it and lowered it about 1.5" and the hood closes! so i am happy. :)

yea i cut mine right at the point where the little crossmember under the fan is..ill post a pic..just make sure you cut enough back to clear the radiator and hoses.

You'll need to modify the shroud or switch to an electric fan set-up too . . .....
