I used Stock Interiors -- http://www.stockinteriors.com. Couldn't be happier. Good quality, easy to install, etc.

Re: Carpet
Carpet looks good! How much was it?

Re: Carpet
I bought the full vinyl floor mat for my truck instead of carpet, but I also purchased from stockinteriors.com and was very pleased with the purchase. They sent exactly what I ordered and offered excellent order tracking and communications. If I ever switch to carpet I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them.

Re: Carpet
I don't remember exactly, but $139 is sticking out in my mind. I actually bought it through Amazon.com because I had a gift card I could use. Look on their website, all the pricing is there.

Re: Carpet
Did you get the mass backing? I'm ready to order and torn whether I should upgrade to that.

Before you install the carpet (or full vinyl floor) be sure and sound insulate your cab and add insulation. I did this with products from Home Depot and it makes all the difference in the world in the sound levels inside the cab. cost was about $ 2.50 per sq ft. Here are some pictures.. http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...1244&k=x9L6d7w http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...8372&k=SDQRkDS http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...4752&k=HTG7Xwm Here is a picture of the full rubber mat being installed, and after this we put a stock regular floor mat down to keep the look stock...... http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...5324&k=TJ6s3L4 http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...6070&k=VBbz2pG The insulation and sound deadening will cost more than the carpet but the combination of both will make your truck as quiet as a church mouse..... |
Re: Carpet
What did you use from Home Depot? Dyna mat is expensive...

used 2 different products: 1. butyl rubber with alum like (dynamat) I could not find the stuff we used on the floor but will go by tonight and look, it was something like this but with aluminum on 1 side and glue on the other 2. Frigiking closed cell foam insulation with alum back http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...&storeId=10051 |
Re: Carpet
I think it's called Peel and Seal or Quick Roof. Works great, I've done a few sets of doors with it and the difference in noise is very noticeable.

Re: Carpet
I put the same stuff in mine as Kieth and astronaut, works great. Was for roof flashing, IIRC-like for in between two different roof surfaces. Best improvement was behind the door panels.

Re: Carpet
Alright...Another question...How did you use both of the products? Did you put one over the other? More details please. I have a carpet kit but have been waiting to put it down until I get this done...You also said it cost you about 2.50 a square foot. How many square foot of material did you use? Thanks,

Re: Carpet
Hey kcsa75,
Is your throttle pedal mounted like that from the factory? Meaning on a swing instead of to the floor. I want to install a swing type pedal in my '64 instead of the stock floor pivot but don't want some fancy aftermarket thingamajig either. Just want a factory looking and functioning swing away pedal. Anyone know what I could use? |
Re: Carpet
Markeb01's mod is the best one I've seen using the 71-72 pedal assembly. As always, his detail is second to none.
