Towing capacity on 3/4 ton burbs? 4x4 of course!
I am wondering what was the tow rating on 3 door burbs? I know that they aren't really effecting me cause I am sitting on a dodge 1-ton frame that is rated for 16k lbs but I would like to know where the truck was rated. I think my largest standard trailer is 9500lb fully loaded.
I just want my ducks in a row for that one time a state trooper wants to bust my balls. Chris |

I don't have anything handy as far as the 67-72 Suburban K20.
But 9600 is the average number I have seen for newer K20 Suburbans. |

provided you have all the options (big engine, auto trans, etc).
1/2 ton: 5500 lbs 3/4 ton: 6000 lbs technically, my max tow rating in my 72 Burb C20 (307, 3 on the tree) is 2000 lbs. that was before i swapped the 4.57 gear for a 4.10. i put a Q-jet on it in place of the 2 barrel and plan to tow my 71 Holiday camper that weighs 6k loaded. if i do any cross country trips i will really need to install my 406sbc with a fuel injection setup (to handle high altitude). |

Make sure your registration is up to the weight as well as the tire/wheel weight rating and you'll be fine.
I just bumped my burb up to 16000 just in case I need it (6000 for truck and 10k for trailer). |
