Rear disc brakes? S10 rear end. I'm confused
If I have 6 lug drum brakes in the rear, do I have to have 5 lug axels to order 5 lug brakes? I do not know very much about brakes. I can get a 2002 blazer rear end with discs, how hard would it be to make that rear end work on my 67 coil spring rear end? I can buy 5x4.75 front rotors. Maybe someone can help me.

what are you trying to do?
an s10 rear end is too narrow for a fullsize, unless you are going to tub your truck with 15 inch wide wheels.. if you are trying to add rear disc brakes to your axle, then get a disc brake kit and bolt it to your axle. if you are trying to do something else, please explain as i am a bit lost.. |
Re: Rear disc brakes? S10 rear end. I'm confused
My truck is a stepside and i plan on running 11/12" wide wheels and dropping is 6" so i need them to clear. I seen a guy run a blazer rearend to do exactly what im trying to do. It seems like it would be cheaper to do this vs narrowing my rear end and buying a rear disc brake kit. What would it take to use the blazer rear end with my coil spring suspension? My other question was if i order a 5lug disc brake kit for my lug rear end, would i also have to order 5 lug axels? If that makes any sense.... lol, thanks

I'm Not sure sure about the s-10 axle strength but there are axle mount kits. I POL has them and it includes the trailing arm perches and a track bar. Of course you would have to remove all of the brackets on the axle and weld on the mounts.

If the rear end will go under the truck as you want all you will need is a set of wheels to fit a s-10 are run adapters. ;):chevy: |
