auto meterwiring ?

I bought a covans classic insturment panel and a set of auto meter gauges I have figured out all the wiring except for the fuel gauge. The instructions say to hook up a wire from the ignition switch to one pole the fuel tank ground to one and the wire from the sender on the tank to one. when I used a test lite on the insturment cluster harness with the key on I get a brite lite on wire #7 and a dim lite on #8. so which wire is which?
Thanks in advance Ben:devil: (im not evil I just wanted to use the new smilie)

You can find the correct sender wire down under the fuse box (tan wire) where it comes from the tank. Thats where I connected to mine. The harness has two tan wires I believe without looking.

Check out GMC Pauls website under the tech section.

He has info on the old wires and with the new gauges.

There are 2 tan wires.
