Porterbuilt uses a 79-93 mustang rack.
Your pump will greatly depend on the engine it's going on.
SBC?
BBC?
Long water pump?
Short water pump?

Contact Nate Porter.
He can get you the part number for the correct P/S hose kit for the rack.

We offer a hose kit with fittings for $105. It's a tight squeeze and the position of the pump and style will dictate the routing.

Give us a buzz and we can discuss a few things and help you get situated.

You can use any chevy pump. One thing to keep in mind is that the pressure rating of the chevy pump is higher than the pressure rating of the Ford rack. You may decide to use a pressure regulator to tune in the "feel".

Not trying to high jack....

But what about guys running an LS series motor? Can we use the newer factory hoses if using the truck accessory brackets?

You can use the newer pump with our hose kit. You might be able to have new ends crimped on the factory hoses to save a little cash.

I would give Borgeson a call.

We have run several without reducing the pressure with good results and zero issues.

You would have to have new ends put on the factory hoses to adapt to a 6AN male fitting. I think it would be easy to find a local hose and hydraulic shop that could crimp them on. We sell the fittings that screw into the rack housing and have the 6AN male for the hose connection.

Price it out for a local place... our hose kit with the proper fittings runs $105.

I ran the 14mm & 16mm with oring's and unfortunately the nipple does not fit down inside the female inset. Is is ok to run these conversion fitting without the oring portion and just us hyrdaulic loctite? Thanks,

The problem is that the threads in the rack are not metric, but standard. We have the correct standard to an fittings in stock if you need them.

Nate,

Do you have a picture of the fitting? I'm having some issues with my pressure side.

Thanks
