Re: how much does your ls1 67-72 truck weigh?
the LS engines if iron i believe are about 100 pounds lighter then the iron headed sbc. and the aluminum block ls engine i believe is 150 pounds? you could do some simple google searches on ls engines... then just figure out how much your truck weighs and subtract the appropriate amount of weight

Re: how much does your ls1 67-72 truck weigh?
I'll have to look up my numbers. I had mine weighed at the Ride Tech booth in Sept. It went from just over 3700 with an iron head SBC/TH350 to around 3590 with the LS1/700R4 setup and went from an almost 70/30 f/r bias to under a 60/40 f/r bias.
I'll search and see if I can find the info. |

Sounds about right to me. Old iron is heavy.
For reference, 2012 ZR1 Corvette is 3,333 lbs... |

My old longhorn,(alum head gen I), 4240, less driver & a full tank of fuel. I know you guys will say"WHAT"! She is pretty stripped, no heat/air, & running 1/2 ton underpinings, tilt front clip. No fiber glass, all steel, but I figure around 150 lbs off going 5.3:chevy: crazyL

Re: how much does your ls1 67-72 truck weigh?
OK, here's the numbers.
Last year, with the iron head sbc, it weighed in at 3,737 lbs with a 62/38 f/r weight bias. With the LS1 setup, it's now 3,591lbs with just under a 60/40 f/r bias. |
