disc brake master ?

if a guy was to do the disc brake swap could he still run the single non power master cylinder or have to go to a dual master cylinder

Re: disc brake master ?

Definitely go to a dual with either a proportioning valve or adjustable valve for the rear brakes if keeping the drums.

Replacing the single mc to the dual style was the 2nd thing I did to my '66. I think it is one of the safest things that I could do--it doubles your chances of surviving a blown wheel cylinder or line.

And nothing wasted(except maybe a $16-mc), as when you later go to discs, you will already have the dual system, lines, etc. [And, you can prolly be ok w/out a prop valve--at worst, should your rears catch too soon, you could install an adjustable valve on the rear line, like nachodog2 said above; this valve can be used when you later go to discs.]

You can buy a reman'd dual mc for about $16 from locals like A-Zone, Adv. A/P, O'Reilly's.
Luck to you,
Sam
