Bad Carb? 1406

Ok, lately I’ve been yard running my truck. But before it starts each time I’m having to dump fuel in the carb and then it turns over on the first try. I know the timing is off, and it runs loud because of the exhaust manifold. Does this sound like the carb needs rebuilding, because it has always been turn key.

This is a common problem on older trucks

Check for cracked fuel line on the suction side between the tank and the fuel pump

What happens is it sucks air instead of fuel

If you prime the carb and get it running it will keep going

Try hooking a small tank directly to the fuel pump;if that cures it replace the fuel lines....not an easy job as you have to pull the box or the tank

Fairly new sending unit and fuel lines, but I will take a look to be sure. Thanks, guys.
