I6 throttle

Does anyone know how to get this pin out of the manifold? I thought as soon as I took the cotter pin off the side of the throttle mechanism the whole thing would slide out. I've tried whacking it and that does absolutely nothing.
I want to swap from the rod throttle assembly to the cable version. I got the proper brackets from a board member , which use a bolt instead of this "pin", and attach from the other side.

It's just seized. It should tap out like you're thinking. You might have to get medieval on it.

Just don't mushroom it or you'll never get it out of there. Maybe use a brass punch if you have one.

"Check", on the brass punch. I've seen mushrooming done by an over-eager gorilla or two in the past.
Drilling might be next.
Someone told me to heat the manifold and apply cold to the pin. Torch for the manifold, but what for the cold? Ice cubes? I'm not taking my motor apart to stick this in the freezer!

If you'll heat that raised lump where the pin sits, I'd about bet it will come out with hammer and punch. Heat does wonders. You'd be hard pressed to apply any appreciable amount of cold to it.

A good source of cold are those spray-air cans that you use on your keypads. Turn them upside down so the fluid comes out and it's really cold. It'll knock the bottom out of a thermometer!:metal:
