No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

I have no pressure @ fuel rail, dropped gas tank and connected pump to battery and it spends and sounds fine. Truck started without trans a couple of weeks ago and now that I have put it back in it won't turn over. Fuel filter and entire fuel system is new but has been sitting for about 7 years without any fuel in system. What else is there for me to check?

.....might I add that I thought tank needed more fuel so when adding fuel it was getting stuck in filler neck? Waited 15 min and gas was sitting there and I could hear it dripping into tank. I squeezed filler neck and fuel went down only as I continuously squeezed? Dropped tank inspected filler neck and tank nothing seem to be clogged?

If you dropped the tank and powered up the pump and you can hear it running but you're not getting any pressure, it sounds like your hose between the pump and sender either blew off or has a good size hole blown in it. You'll have to pull the sender and check.

Check the tank vent. When putting liquid in or taking liquid out a vessel you need a clear vent.

we probly need more info. are you checking the fuel pressure with a gage? you said the motor isn't turning over at all (not a fuel problem)? does the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key? have somebody in the truck turn the ignition on while you stand next to the tank to listen to the fuel pump to see if it primes.

Yes I'm useing fuel gage@ fuel rail. Yes fuel pump turns on by key. Yes I can hear pump come on. Motor fires with starting fluid

What regulator are you using? If it's one of those junk corvette regulator/filters, that might be your problem. I have had 2 that were bad right out of the box.

Regulator? If we are thinking the same thing then It's the stock regulator, I never changed it.

Re: No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

So I take it you're using the truck rails, with the regulator built in?

Re: No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

The fuel gage reads 0? I'd check the lines for blockage at that point. How new is the pump? I'm guessing the regulator in line after the fuel gage and isn't the problem, if you have the older motor with the regulator built in then.

Re: No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

You DO need a vent by the way. Normally it would trigger an emissions CEL but since emissions is usually deleted in a swap, it will just have random fuel hiccups/fill issues/stalling/boggin.

Can I just use a Vented gas cap?

Another poss is fuel line pinched between trans and motor. You said it ran before trans was installed. Just a thought

Re: No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

Disconnect the fitting (first connection) after the
tank (pump) and see if you have fuel and pressure.

Sure can, anything is better than no vent. Mine only vents through the cap.

Re: No fuel pressure @ fuel rail

Mine vents through the cap also but on hot days and heated by the exhaust, there is some serious pressure in the tank, I'm in the process of hooking up the evap/purge to the ls stock status, but so far no drivability issues.
