One More Front Hub Installation ? 1974 4x4
1 Attachment(s)
Okay I decided to put my warn hubs on today and the axles don't stick out enough to put the snap-ring into the correct location on the axle. The splined section slips right on but it bottoms out before the recess on the axle makes it out.
I didn't have the front end in the air could that be the cause of the problem? |

Put the hub all the way on the splined shaft and take a pair of pliers or channel locks and grab the end of the shaft and pull towards you a little the axle has a little end play in it put your snap ring on....done

I will give it a try.

You can also reach around the knuckle and push the axle into the back of the spindle by hand.

Thanks for that suggestion.I never gave it a thought you could get there from the knuckle but it makes perfect sense.
I remember swapping the old red Warn hubs out a long time ago and they just slipped right in.I guess I got lucky back then. |
