Painted my dash bezel and cab corner moldings this weekend

Getting all the little stuff ready while my truck is getting painted.

Spent most of this weekend masking, painting, then masking, then painting.

nice work on the bezel
is it just repainted or did you do something to raise the texture

Just repainted the dash bezel. In the second picture, it looks flat because I scruffed it up with a scotch brite pad. The third picture was after it was painted with SEM paint. Now I have to scruff up the black around the gauges again to apply my brushed aluminum applique.

That looks good. Must have taken a long time to mask those pieces.

Thanks. I spent most of the day masking and reverse the masking on the bezel. I don't think I would ever want to do it again, it was too tedious.

How did you clean up the silver over spray?

That looks great. How do you remove the cab corners? I am afraid of tearing mine up.

I sprayed the silver first since it was the toughest to mask off. Then I masked off the silver and sprayed the black, which cleaned up most of the silver overspray. Then I got a really fine brush and touched up any spots that were over or under-masked.

The cab corners have a 10mm nut that holds them in place. You have to reach underneath the opening from the inside of your cab corner to get to it. Once you take the nut off, just wiggle them slowly and they'll come apart and slowly slide apart from the rear cab molding. You have to use a little bit of care not to bend or twist them.

Ok so you did spray black. Make sense tell us how it holds up!
