Noob Question about radiators

So I have my heart set on replacing my old leaky radiator with an inexpensive Aluminum off ebay..

I know.. I know you get what you pay for..

my question is more of a technical one.. If the fittings are the same and the radiator fits.. then I should be good to go right?

Or is there a specific, spec, to look for?

This is going into a 66 GMC with a 351e V6..

Thanks in advance for the help.

If it fits and keeps the MoMo cool then it's good to go!

Re: Noob Question about radiators

I got the champion one off eBay and very happy. Got the electric fan also because went with LT1. Had to trim the top rubber and fit great. Know several guys running them and work great.

Why are you getting an aluminum one? Oreilly's has the factory new rad for $210 and that comes with lifetime warranty, hard to beat that deal....

Re: Noob Question about radiators

i put the eagle/champion $170 dual 1" core one in my 71 pontiac 462 with upgrades, almost 450HP, 500 ft lbs, factory clutch 7 blade 19" fan, factory shroud, no electric fans, 160 thermostat, runs at 165 degrees, even in the 110 degree heat/3 hour drive and idling in a goodguys car show for 30 mins to parking spot. I scuffed the tanks that stick out of the shroud and painted them black to blend in more with the factory looking engine bay.

Hard to beat that deal more than a factory rad for $200. Nice and new and clean!

I went through 3 of those radiators before I gave up on one that didn't leak or smashed from shipping. Plus it didn't cool as good as the aluminum one I have now.
