Ground strap location

Can anyone tell me where this ground strap belongs? One end is screwed into the firewall but the other end is loose. This is a 66 C20 with a 327. Thanks!

Should be bolted to the back of the cyl. head

Re: Ground strap location

Check the diameter of the hole in the ground strap that will give a clue. Are you looking for the factory location for resto purposes? And I don't know for sure, you might check in the factory assembly manual. I'd just match it up to the closest bolt that fits in the hole in the strap. Someone changed motors and forgot to hook it up I'm guessing, good luck...Vernski:lol:

I was thinking it goes to the engine as well. But where? Does it just go to a valve cover bolt?

This is an original truck, btw.

Valve cover is acceptable, some chevy models, used the valve cover bolt for the ground, my original is on the inner front fender right side to frame...
