You won't have to change the brake pedal. If you get a booster from the junk yard make sure you get the booster, the brackets and the rod. Also the the hose with the, I call it valve in it.

If the booster is bad it can be used for a core.

I will have to disagree. The brake pedal is differant. The rod pin that is made on the pedal is a differant size.

I converted from power to manual on my 85. I think yours would be the same.
The brake pedal is the same. The power booster push rod connects to a large pin that is welded on the pedal.
The manual pushrod connects with a special bolt and goes in a hole in the pedal. The manual pushrod is located above where the power booster connects. This gives the manual brakes the lower pedal ratio that they require

You sure could be right. When we made the brakes on my '71 power we used the same brake pedal. We installed a booster with bracket and push rod we got at a swap meet. It works, but the brakes are a little touchy.

We converted manual brakes on a '69 and '70 the same way with drum brakes to power brakes and they both work ok.

Of course when my son and I get together we tend to do a lot of stuff people say can not be done since we don't know any better.

I am not as familar with the '73 and newer trucks, but I am learning more as my journey continues working on the '75 C-30 dually I bought.
