Mirror mount location. 65 chevy
Was at the swap meet and came across a pair of bran new repo doors in the boxes. $400 for the set! Needless to say I drained my wallet and took those suckers home. My doors were beyond repair . The new doors fit great and all the holes are there but they weren't drilled for mirrors. I have the original style round mirrors and arms but drilling holes in new doors is scaring me a little. Anyone know of any Templates to help me? Or Possibly measure and post pictures? Thanks

Re: Mirror mount location. 65 chevy
Can't you use the old doors for numbers? There is a support bracket inside the driver door if it has different mirror arms than stock. This will show you where the original mirror arms went. Mark the holes on your old door and make a template for the passenger side.

Re: Mirror mount location. 65 chevy
reach inside the doors and see if the mounting plate is attached to the underside of where the mirrors are supposed to be.
if they are there, then use a punch to mark the placement of the holes and carefully drill them out. |

You also might want to use the black gasket for a template for the mounting hole locations

That drawing looks like for a 60-63 cab. For a 64-66 cab/doors, the 2" dimention should be from the body line just below the window. If you are doing both sides, then they should match real well.
