Final tranny instal questions

So I got a rebuilt 350 under my 1976 k10, and ive got a few last questions that I know will make me sound like an idiot.

What does the dipstick bolt onto?
How does the selector attach to the chassis? I'm confused as to how it is held in place with the spring and all.

Thanks in advance

Re: Final tranny instal questions

The dipstick should bolt to the top passenger side bolt on the trans bell housing

Your selector should go int the bracket as follows
1. Have the spring on the selector shaft then attach the ball pivot and install into the bracket and then slide into the trans gear selector. And install cotter pin. That should have you set up ready to rock

The nylon bearing can be replaced by a big block chevy rocker arm ball..just takes a little bit of sanding on the shaft to fit..most parts stores carry them for less than $3.00
