85 C10 Long Arm Suspenion

Looking to replace the rear leaf suspension with 67-72 long arm suspension using some Porterbuilt parts. Will be piecing it together not able to buy the whole setup. Question does anyone know if the long arm crossmember can be installed without removing the cab? Will b bagged front and rear. Any input would be great. So bags on the arms or on the axle, behind the axle, in front of the axle inside the frame or outside the frame? Dominators or rolling sleeve bags? Thanks for the input. Greg

I would use the design that Nate Porter has developed.
He has this figured out.

He uses a double convoluted bag on the arm.
This keeps everything under the bed floor.

I suppose if you step notched the rear frame, you would want to use a sleeve bag connected to the rear axle.

all of the rear suspension work can be done with the cab on.as far as the bags go,it depends on how low you want the truck to sit.a step notch will limit how low it can be.

Thanks for the input, based on Porterbuilt's website I'll go with the ss7 bags on the arms, my biggest worry was installing the crossmember without removing the cab, I don't have the space or help available to do it safely. Thanks again Greg

i removed mine with cab on , it sucked but it came out ,
easiest way is too cut your stock crossmember out first then go after the rivits

Thanks for the input, my truck is an 85 and I don't have the crossmember. I'm changing the suspension over to the long arm type.
