getting the ball rolling..... again

Well after a long time I am finally getting my rear end in my 60 swapped out !
A few years back I rounded up a rear end off of a 67 and stashed it away. I also got an adjustable track bar, lowering springs with hardware, u joint, new axle saddles and u bolts.
I was going thru a ruff patch ( as we all have) and put the truck on the back burner. Easy to do as it was drivable.
I hope to have it back Monday, then I will do the drop spindle disc brake swap.( that I have also had for a while)
The rear end has 5 lug axles so I am not sure what wheels to run, I have some stealies ,older 15" Cragar S/S , Some 15X8 newer style rallies ,100 spoke wires, and some 15 x8 Supremes. I'm leaning towards the Supremes but don't want to run a 235/75r15 white wall. Any suggestions?
Stay tune as I up date this post

Hey Sal the Steelies or Supremes got my vote... What direction you gonna do the Steelies? Color, bullets, center caps, rings or white walls..

Re: getting the ball rolling..... again

Thanks for the suggestions... I think I'll just try them all on and decide.
Ok so here is an update: I dropped the truck off with all the parts all except the keys !!!
To make maters worse I went out of town and was unable to drop the keys off till today. So I went from front of the line to stand by!
On the plus side I picked up a spilt manifold for it. I have long tube headers on it ( its a 250 6) and they hang REAL low, limiting how low I can drop the front end . I couldn't find a cheap set of shorty headers so the split manifold will have to do.
Hope to have a better update soon.

Almost done except for the trac bar. Looks like the bolt on trac bar I got from CPP needs to be tweaked. It's too long so we will cut it down tomorrow and call it good.

Is the truck on the ground, at ride height? If not, your bar might not be too long. If the truck is up on a lift and the rear suspension is hanging down, this is not how you adjust your track bar. You must be at ride height.

Just giving some info so you don't modify something and find out you didn't need to.

Re: getting the ball rolling..... again

Update: well looks like my master cylinder is bad. Guess I got do the disc brake swap sooner then latter. The rear end swap came out great, and drives sweet! But since the rear end was a bit wider I ran into a problem.
As I had posted I was debating on what rims to use.... well that changed. Keep in mind my truck is a 1960 fleet side long bed.
The 15x8 Supremes, the 15x8 Cragar S/S ,and the 15x8 80's Rallys are all to wide. So that narrows it down.
I am going to go with the stealies painted red with some Spider caps. But will run my moon caps till I swap out the front drums.
I also had to replace my starter today ,and looks like my Ignition switch decided to sleep with the fishes too.. ah the fun of owning an old truck.
And before I get flamed Pictures are on the way.

Re: getting the ball rolling..... again

Replaced the ignition switch. I found my receipt for my master cylinder and got it replaced under warranty, bench bleed it had the wife help bleed the brakes and took her to dinner for her help. The truck runs great and stops just as good.
I was going to do my disc brakes but I didn't have the outer tie rods so I ordered them up from LMC.
Replacing my old master cylinder was easy and besides the time the only cost was a quart of brake fluid.
