Re: Front disk brake hose

Maybe I didn't word that correctly - I'll try this one more time... I'm also aware from the polls and responses that 62's are maybe not that common to these parts as one might think.

I'm in the process of mounting 78 1/2 disk brake hoses on a 1962 C10 chassis that has the 78 front crossmember installed.

As Mark (or any of you 60-62 X-men and ladies) are well aware the frame is boxed at the point where the hose comes over and is usually attached with the stamped hex-nut.

I saw Mark's solution and I know that will work - I'm just trying to see if there might be options to the hard line and hose junction being INSIDE the boxed area of the frame.

ANY pictures that might elaborate on "the most intense stand-off in the history of my truck's build" will be appreciated by the old hack (me) who has to figure it out today.

Blessings & peace,
Bob

In case anyone else can't figure out how to do this - here's one possible fix.

I bought these from Speedway and welded them to the bottom of the frame just ahead of the crossmember.

Moving on -

The brackets you bought are what I would have done.
Please post pics when you get time.

Re: Front disk brake hose

went with a porterbuilt front member going through the same thing right now... well that and bending new hard lines - if I get to it before you do I will share how I solved it. Good luck.

Nicely done RG!

I'm sorry the community left you to figure this one out on your own. Thank you for posting this information for the collective good!

P.S. What does Speedway call those? Found it!
