305 to 350
I've come to a great point in my build, but I need some help from you guys!
I'm picking up a Chevy 350 block this weekend, and I currently have a Chevy 305 in my truck so my question is, is what parts are interchangeable on these motors? I know I'll have to get different heads, and pistons for sure. Is the oil pan, crank, flex plate, harmonic balancer, timing chain, if there's anything missing can you please inform me on what can, and can not be switched over. Thanks fellas! :chevy: |
Re: 305 to 350
Rods and pistons are useless so is the crank since its balanced for a lighter 305 rotating assembly. Heads-depends on what you have
Pan and intake obviously fit. Flex plate works timing chain should be tossed and replaced they are cheap enough same with the cam. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 305 to 350
Better to have a matching balancer. But usually they are neutral balanced since both engines are normally internally balanced.
