Re: bought 1964 stepside
welcome and congrats on the new purchase. get it to stop, start and steer properly 1st, then worry about the rest. the bench seats are pretty easy to come across, where in nc are you? im in fayetteville....there is a pretty large nc crowd here.

Re: bought 1964 stepside
Congratulations! I got mine in May of this year. +1 on what 1963 said. I started with the brakes on mine, and discovered that it had no rear brakes, the rubber hose from the steel brake line to the rear axle was mush inside.

Re: bought 1964 stepside
Congrats man - look forward to seeing your build. I have a 64 step-side in pieces in the garage right now - finally starting to get the old girl put back together. Can wait to see pictures.

Were here for ya, and pictures are always welcome!;) Thanks and good luck. T.J. I got mine running first, then got some brakes and checked the fluids and got some tires.

Re: bought 1964 stepside
need some info on front frame cross member under the radiator. can it be changed, and where can i get one.

Re: bought 1964 stepside
Are you referring to the front cross member (holds the a arms and front suspension) or the radiator mount? Porterbuilt sells a replacement radiator crossmember. As far as front suspension crossmembers you have several options depending on what you are trying to do.
Here is the porterbuilt radiator support crossmember link: http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.com/?p=340 |
