window problems
I have just installed all the new door seals and window runs but I am having a problem and I cant seem to work it out
when I raise or lower the window it does not stay in any one of the runs so that when I raise it again it does not line up into the run properly is there a guide that should be in there what could I be missing ? any ideas anyone |
Re: window problems
It should just latch down, you might not have it latched down all the way. Can you get a pic of your problem put up here? When I put mine on, for example, I just laid it on there, lined up right, and hit it downwards with my hand. It will grab on there and shouldn't be able to come off without someone pulling it up. But that's for the lower window seal.
The rest of the rubber door seals, I put a little silicon where it wouldn't stay. Now it stays. If it keeps falling down, just glue it. You can always yank it down if you have to, and remove the glue. Better than dealing with it falling down or coming away all the time. |
Re: window problems
Can you look at the other side as an example? Or did you do both at the same time?

Re: window problems
I did both at the same time
the rubber seals and runs are fine they are staying well its the actual window that wont stay in position it fall out of the runs when it is put down then back up is it supposed to stay in the back or front run? |
Re: window problems
Sounds like you might have a bad, or bent window regulator. Might be time for a new one. I'd go with AC Delco even though they're more expensive.

Re: window problems
The bottom of the "runs" or window track should be adjustable a small amount toward the glass. Possible the tracks were bent when removed. If they can't be adjusted any further in,raise the window and persuade (bend) them to tighten the window fit.
